WANDERING STOCK
TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT'S PROSECUTIONS EIGHT CHARGES HEARD Following complaints concerning the number oi wandering stock on main highways, the Transport Department took action, and represented by Traffic J. H. Delves, brought eight charges before Mr E< L. Walton, in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. The charge in each case read: Allowing a cow (or cows) to be at large on a main highway without proper guidance. Those concerned, and the fines imposed, were Charlotte 'Ratahi (Mr C. A. Suckling) 10s and 17s costs; Henry K. Pryor (two charges) 10s and £1 4s, and £1 and 12s; Selwyn Bennett, 5s and 12s:. T'ua Tawhiao", 10s and 17s; Wharetini Hakopa, 10s and 17s; Eric Henry, 10s and 12s; and Hika Ranapia, 5s and £1 Is.
