FAREWELL DANCE
FUNCTION AT OTAKIRI
A very enjoyable function, a farewell to district soldiers on final leave, >vas held in the Otakiri Hall, which was tastefully decorated with greenery and red, white and blue decorations. There Avas a large attendance from all parts of the district. Music .was supplied by- the Gaietj'l Boys' Orchestra. A very nice supper was served by members of tljie committee and many willing helpers. Mr Dunning, chairman of the committee, made presentations to Messrs Harold Mexted,, George Revell and Carl Fletcher, after they had been piped into the hall by members of the Whakatane Pipe Band. . ; The Monte Carlo Waltz was won | by Mr F. Butler and Miss J. Ranby. Dancing continued until 1.30 after which all those present rose and joined in singing Auld Lang Syne.
