DAIRYING SEASON
<*. HIGH PRODUCTION INCREASE HARVESTING WELL UNDER WAY Reports of an all-round increase 111 dairying production arc general and the 25 per cent advance on last year's figures, .advised some weeks ago, is apparently being maintained. All districts shared in the congenial conditions Avhich favoured the inauguration of the season and early hopes have been fully confirmed by the exceptionally good conditions prevailing over what is almost the first half of the farming . year. Crops are very heavy, generally, and the yield of hay and ensilage is expected to surpass the best returns for several years. Harvesting is under way in most districts. The labour shortage, Avhich it is feared will become more acute as further men are called for militaiw service, is also said to have induced some farmers to prepare for harvesting earlier than usual.
