BAY OF PLENTY CLUB'S ANNtTAL -/MEETING ■ "It must be remembered that poultry fanciers, in common with other classes of the community, have been affected by the prevailing Avar coil-" ditions, but nevertheless the interest of members in the activity of the club has been well maintained," said the president, Mr R. F. Smith, in reporting to the 10th annual meeting , of the Bay of Plenty .Poultry,' Pigeon »ijd Cage-Bird Cljusi , "The number of entries for poultry exhibits at the A. and P. Show in February showed an increase Avhilst. the all-iround quality of the exhibits was excellent, Messrs A. G. Allan and the late Mr G. Anselt are to be thanked for providing special trophies for this show. "Tlic. entries of local enthusiasms at the Winter Show were entirely satisfactory.-Mr Ju Nixon, the noted judge, commented very favourably indeed upon the high standard of the exhibits.. It can be said with, trytli that the poultry Section of Uie Winter Show bears comparison with those in larger towns, -The club now has an- imposing array of - cups and special trophies in connection with this Show. ; An Innovation.
"An innovation -introduced during the season and one which met with general favour was the,.periodical meetings lield to demonstrate various classes of fowls and their utility qualities. I must thank Mr A. G. Allan for providing the premises for these demonstrations.
"It is with deep regret that I have to record the decease of four members of the club,: Messrs G. AnselU G. A. Latham, R. Loonies and G. Adler-. Mr Ansell was a very en,, thusiastic worker and exhibitor, besides officiating as a judge. Mr-Gv, A.. Latham was a well qualified judge and a prominent exhibitor at our shows. The sympathy-of members will go out to the relatives of the deceased.
