OHOPE DOMAIN BOARD

A special meeting of ratepayers and residents of Ohope will this evening nominate six members for the proposed Ohope Domain Board the formation of which has now been authorised by the Minister of Internal Affairs. The board which will also embrace representatives of the County, Borough and Lands Department will be entrusted with the full control of the numerous reserves along the beach front. It will be within its province to formulate suitable by-laws covering those reserves and to enforce their observance. The majority of its members will be living on the spot and therefore will be fully qualified to supervise the interests of the beach and ensure its protection from vandals and other irresponsibles who have unfortunately in the past fre quented the resort during the holiday season.
