BOWLING
RESULTS OF TOURNAMENT GOOD WIN FOR PALMER Eighteen teams competed in the week-end tournament, promoted by the Whakatane Bowling Club and played on the local greens last Saturday in glorious weather. Representatives from Te Puke, Opotilp, and Taneatua participated and the result, a cl«ar win by Palmer (Te Puke), was watched with keen interest by a large gallery of' on-

Five teams in Section B tied with 5 wins and the final was as under:
Marsh lost to Spratt, 0->7; Moody lost to Burrett 2-4; Graham lost to Burrett 0-8; and Spratt beat Burrett 7-0; Spratt later met Palmer, the winner of Section A and was beaten 5-1.
