WEDDING BELLS

JOHNSTON—SCHICK A very pretty wedding was solemnised in the Matata Presbyterian Church Hall on Wednesday, November 27, when Vera Gladys, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A ; . R. Schick, of Matata} was married to Private James Johnston, 2nd N.Z.E.F, of Edgecumbe. The Rev. C. P. Lucas officiated, and . Mrs I. Steenson was at the organ. Friends of the bride decorated the Church with rambling roses and Christmas lilies.. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a model frock of teal blue with accessories to tone. She carried a boxiquet of roses. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Pearl Schick, sister of the bride, whose frock was of American sheer. She carried a bouquet of carnations. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Archie Dysart, as best man. Members of the Whakatane Pipe Band, of which the bridegroom was a member, gave , an , appropriate send off to the happy couple. The reception was held at the home of the' bride's parents.
