WOMEN'S DIVISION

AWAKERI BRANCH MEETING The monthly meeting of the Awakeri Branch, W.D.F.U. was held recently, Mrs Haul tain presiding. Another appeal was made for read Ing matter suitable for the soldiers in camp. After much discussion it was decided to postpone the Flower Show usually held in November until the autumn of next year* During the afternoon Mrs Simmons demonstrated wreath making which was greatly apprcciatetl by all present. Competitions were won by the following: Small Cakes: Mrs E. M. Butler 1, Mrs N. McGougan 2. Shoulder Spray: Mrs Brizzle 1„ Mrs N. McDonald 2, Mrsi Butler 3. Flower: Mrs McDonald 1, Mrs Brizble 2, Mrs McGougan 3. The meeting closed after the serv ing of afternoon tea by MesdameS; Brizzle, Knight and Luke.
