C. Macky, chairman of the Hamilton Committee, when the lather of a farmhand called in the first ballot said that his son would rather, go into camp than withstand criticism that had been directed at him for his not being in khaki. Appellant said his son was milking 70 cows, and he could not secure other labour. It .was not possible for lii's son to enter camp now, although he desired to enter the army. "People have no rigid to criticise this reservist," said Mr R. Ha.vAvard, a member of the committee. "He is milking 70 cows, and thus doing his .share of national war effort. The type of people who criticise these cases are not worth heed ing/'
