REVOLT AGAINST HITLER

PROSPECTS THOUGHT TO BE SLIGHT ALLIED ACTION NEEDED It is significant of the new phase the war has entered that there is now scarcely any speculation in Lon don about the chances of a revolt against Hitler from within tlie cou.i tries which, lie has overrun. Yet in the first months of the Avar there were many people who put their hopes of victory on a rising by Czechs, Poles and even Austrians. To-day, with France, Belgium, Hoiland Norway and Denmark added to the Nazis' victims, the chances of, trouble for Hitler are obviouslj* much greater. Though the Englishman in the streets seems to .have put these speculations out of mind, the encouragement of revolt is still part of Britain's strategy. In England groups of exiles from all the invaded countries are methodically working for such revolutions. Each group has its own ideas of methods to be adopted. Many- exiled patriots favour the "parachute technique," which the Nazis used in the Netherlands. When the time comes it is proposed, Czech troops from England shall be flown over their country and either dropped or landed at key points to lead the revolutionary movement, Polish, and possible- also Dutch and Belgian movements would be organised in the same way. In thus turning Hitler's parachute technique against himself, the patriots would, have great advantages. Men landed in Nazi-occupied territory would find 99 per cent of the people ready to befriend themwhereas German parachutists in Holland had to rely on the help of a very small, though well organised fifth column.
