OBITUARY

MR G. A. LATHAM In the death of Mr George' Aston Latham, which took place on Sunday last, the district has lost one of its respected and esteemed residents. Mr Latham who was 58 years of age was born in Australia and came to New Zealand in J9OB. For some years he was occupied as an engineer in Poverty Bay and later took up farming in that district. He came to Awakeri some 17 years ago, where he was engaged in farming up till the time of his death. Mr Latham was keenly interested in. all phases of poultry farming and, in this connection, he Avas> a competitive and prominent judge, and was to he seen at most of the poultry shows held in. the district. Mr Latham is survived by his daughter, Miss Hilda Latham, of Awakeri,, and Mr E. A. Latham, of Wellington.
