RAGING NOTES

Stewards' Rehaudicaps. The following winners have been rehandicapped lor the G.J.C. Stewards' Handicap, to be decided at Rie carton on November 9: Sir Crusoe, 7lb, making 8.12; Not out, 31b, making 7.8; Belle Cane, 71b, making 7.7. Doing Solid Work. The recent track efforts of British Talent have been over a middle distance and lie is thriving in his work and looks an improved horse. The chestnut son of British King figures in the King George Handicap, one mile and three furlongs. In Good Order. Nothing of a serious nature has been required of Tea Gong since he resumed work, but no fault can be found with his condition. The Tea Tray gelding proved himself a very capable galloper last season, and when he reaches his best more money should be in store for him. Likes Firm Going. So far this season Odtaa has failed to finish in the money, but his traclc work has been satisfactory and he may soon make amends. On several occasions the conditions have been against the brother to Scotland, who needs hard ground in order to reveal his best. Novice Shows Speed. The Ellcrslie-traincd novice King's Flight, by British King from Royal Seagull, is displaying plenty of speed in his work. This member of I. Tucker's teain, who has been in commission only a short time, may be seen out among the maiden candidates at Avondale. A Speedy Filly. Having no immediate engagements Golden Bonnet is not being over taxed, though she could be got ready to race at short notice. This filly is very speedy and she is now working much more tractibly than formerly. W. Kirk should be able to place her to advantage on the country circuit. Going on the Right Way. The maiden candidate Bronzora has not been severely tested in his workouts, though he is doing everything required of him in a very capable manner. When in work a few seasons ago Bronzora displayed abundance of speed and he will need only to reproduce it to enable him to win races.. High Star's Progress. Although the hurdler High Star has only been in regular work for a brief period, lie is shaping well and. will 'he seen out at the Avondale meeting. A return to his best form would enable High Star to pay his way among the hurdlers rae ing at the present time.

A Likely Recruir. One of the latest recruits to the jumping brigade is Prival, who has had several lessons over the battens at Ellerslie recently. This gelding is the ideal type for hurdling and should make good in the new department. He is engaged in the Rangitoto Hurdles at the Avondalc meet ing next Saturday. Making Good Headwa3 7 . Since joining A„ Kemp's team the Whirlwind gelding Paddy the Rip has not been over taxed and he has freshened up nicely. He shaped well over a sprint distance! the other morning and should not be hard to place when properly seasoned. Later on Paddy, the Rip will be tried over hurdles. An Improved Hack. Bronze Emerald, who claims an engagement in the Nihotapu Handi-cap,-one mile, on the first day of the Avondale meeting is getting through a solid preparation at headquarters. The bay gelding has neA rer worked better and is an improved hack. As lie lias previously raced prominently over a mile his prospects appear bright.
