WET WEEK-END
OVER TWO INCHES RECORDED NO DAMAGE REPORTED The past week-end was probably the wettest for the year. The total fall was 2.1 i inches, being made up as follows: Friday .12 ins, Saturday .59ins and Sunday I.43ins. This brings the total for the year up tq 39.13 inches. Rain fell on Sunday without a break from dawn till well into the night when after a momentary lull it commenced again in the early hours and this morning showed no sign of breaking. Reports of minor slips are to hand from all parts of the district, but as yet there lias been no damage of any serious consequence. It is interesting to note that the Avettest day on'record in this district. Avas in February 1934 Avhen no less than 4.55 inches fell. At this particular period the fall in tAvo days measured 8.08 inches and in seven days no less than 14.33 inches.
