SPORTS POSTPONED
Disappointment at the unavoidable postponement of the Taneatua sports meeting- scheduled to have taken place on Labour Day will be compensated to some extent by the plans of the committee to stage the gathering on the King's Birthday. Whether this takes place or not, the public will have, every -sympathy for those enthusiasts who endeavoured to mark the day in a manner fully worthy of it, as a means of raising* funds for Patriotic purposes.
Crowds in Town. Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday morning saw large crowds in the Strand and for the most part every available car parking space was occupied. Shopkeepers report good business.
Price Order. A price order gazetted last' week provides that the maximum retail price of bolts and nuts,, nuts and coach screws shall not exceed the wholesale price by 35 per cent, except that outside the cities.
