WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

MATATA BRA.NCH MEETING The monthly meeting of the Matata W.T. was held in the Presbyterian Hall recently. Mrs CaverhilJ presided over a good attendance. The meeting took the form of a "Grandmother's Day," and each Institute grandmother was presented with a shoiflder spray. A report on the recent Council meeting held in Matata on October 4 Avas given by Mrs Cuinmings,

Mrs H. Burt rendered a song, the Avords of which Avere composed by Mx F. A. Burt".whilst on board ship en route to Egypt. This Avas enjoyed by all present. A wall competition was won by Mrs Creeke Jni. A bring and buy stall for the Leper fund realised £1 Bs. Competitions resulted: Bunch of Spring "FlOAA'ers: Mrs Smith 1, Mrs H. Burt 2, Miss Burt 3. House Frock: Mrs Cummings 1, Miss Burt 2. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames R. Wilson and Raureti. This concluded the meeting.
