I In a communication received from. the Commissioner of/Grown Lands the jCounty Council Avas advised that the matter of the formation of a Domain Board at O'hope Avas under consideration. It Ayas pointed out, however, that a Board could not con-" sist of more than >) persons, usually nominated at a public meeting call- ; ed "for that purpose. Pending a decision regarding jthe appointment :of a Domain Board, the council Avas asked to supply particulars of the : areas Avhicli the Board Avould be ex- .. peeled to control. ; ■ " The County Clerk reported that he had intervieAved the-Secretary of : the Land Board, Mr Lane, and. had . advised him that the council's proposals referred to an area of 187 acres and that Avhen the neA\v Domain Board AA r as elected-application ■■ ■ would be .made on its behalf to" include in lands under its control all : O'hope Crown reserves. Mr Lane had stated that action, to elect the per-, sonnel of the Domain Board should, not v be taken until the Minister's consent had been received. v ' Mr Mahy had advised that he had telegraphed the Minister of . Lands recently, asking when approval to tlie transfer could. tje expected. The, Minister's reply read: "Question of .... future control Ohope Beach still under consideration. Commissioner of . CroAvn Lands being asked to confer Avith those interested. Decision Avili be iriade as„soon as possible."
