FAREWELL DANCE
WAIMANA MAN HONOURED A farewell dance to Private S. Green, who is on leave, was held in the hall last Wednesday eveningAlthough the public only had a few hours notice, there was a good assemblage of dancers. Music was contributed by Mrs King, Mr King and Mr D. Boynton, and Miss M. Wardlaw and Mr Wardlaw obliged with extras. The Monte Carlo Waltz was won by Mr and Mrs King. Mr H. Wardlaw acted as M..C. After supper, Mr A. Ruff in Avell chosen AA'ords, presented the guest of the evening Avith a cheque and conveyed the best wishes of all present. PriA r ate Green most suitably responded, thanking all for the gift and the most pleasant evening. Dancing continued until a late hour. Miss Monica Boynton sang two songs. Among those present were: Mesdames Mitchell, Ducker, J. WardlaAV H. WardlaAV, T. WardlaAV, Mannion, Wylde, Grover, I. Sa\ T age, Henderson, J. Boynton, K. Bell, Jock WardlaAA 7 , Gallagher, B. Hodgson, Bob Wardlaw. Misses M. Hughes, B. "Bell, L. WardlaAV, Aggie and Amv_Ruff, B. Wragge, J. McClonnell, M. Wardlaw "Aukl Lang Syne" and the National Anthem closed" the function.
