WAIMANA NOTES
GOLF CLUB DANCE PATRIOTIC FUNDS The Patriotic dance held undev the auspices of the Waimana Coif Club in the Waimana Hall recently was a great success. The dance music was played by Micklejohn and his Havana Boys' Orchestra and Mrs M. Burke obliged with an extra. Mr M. King made a most efficient M.C. The Monte Carlo waltzs were won by Mr T. Savage and partner and Mr J. Wardlaw and Mrs King. A box of chocolates for competi* tion was won by Mr John Cranswick. After a dainty supper had been served, the President of the Golf Club, Mr G. Jerram, presented the trophies and cups won during the past season. The following is the list of awards; Ladies' A Championship: Mrs Ruff, runner-up Mrs Flint. Ladies' B Championship: Miss K. Schwieters, runner-up Mrs A. K. Bell, received a trophy donated by Mrs King, Jerram Gup: Miss K. Doran. Miniature of Jerram Cup for 1939: Miss M. Woolfield. A Eclectic: Mrs King. B Eclectic: Mrs T. Burke. Miniature Gup for A Championship 1939: Mrs Flint. Elimination competition; Miss J. McConnell and Mrs A. K« Bell,' trophies donated by Mrs J. Wardlaw. Men's A Championship: Mr J. Wardlaw. Men's B Championship: Mr M< Burke. Miniature Cup for A Championship 1939: Mr J. Wardlaw. Morton Cup: Mr G. Jerram. Miniature Cup of Morton Cup 1939: Mr G. Forbes. Captain's Cup: Mr D. Bull. Eclectic- Mr D, Woolfield. Men's Foursomes: Mr J. Wardlaw and Mr A. K. Bell. Mixed Foursome: Mr J. Wardlaw and Mrs A. K. Bell. Medal Round: Mr F. Mitchell. One-club competition: Mr Schwieters. Long Drive: Mr C. J. Menges. Approach land Putting: Mr G. J. Menges.
