INTER-ZONE COMMITTEE'S ACKNOWLEDGMENTS TOTAL OVER £1500 Contributions from district committees totalling over £500 arc acknowledged by the honorary secretary of the Wbakatane County and Borough Inter-Zone Patriotic Committee, and these contributions take the total amount received to £1584. This does not include, receipts from the sale of Runnerstrum Raffle tickets, nor, in the case of the Whakatane Borough and Ohope Committees, does it. include donations to the fund opened at the BEACON Office and acknowledged, in this paper. The Whakatane Pipe Band was in attendance and supplied several extras which added greatly to the night's entertainment. The supper extra was contributed by Mr Bell.

A competition was won by Mr B. Wilkins. and winners of the Monte Carlo Waltz were Mr J. Harris and Miss M. Aston, anxl of the Spot Waltz, Mr M. Brady and Miss B. Baskett. Mr O. Lord again proved an efficient M.G* Supper was served, by the committee and many willing helpers.
