WHAKATANE ANNUAL MEETING PUBLIC SUPPORT INVITED The annual general meeting of the Whakatane Rowing Club will be held in.the Borough Chambers next Wednesday evening, October 10th, at 7.30 p.m. Apart from the ordinary general business the effect of the war ,on the club's activities will also be discussed arid in this connection the support of old members', young intending members, and the general public is invited. All b"f last year's crews of ta'ry age have enlisted and are either away on service or waiting mobilisation orders and the • continued functioning of the sport in Whakatane depends upon the support, encouragement and participation of old members and, those below military age: Regarding this, it is advised that a concession in subscript tions w T ill be afforded those who join the club and are later called up for service. Next Thursday evening is the date; 7.30 is the time and the continuance of a clean, healthy, physi-que-improving sport is the. object of the meeting.
