BENEFIT TO PASTURES
WARM AND STEADY RAIN THE GARDENERS' DELIGHT Of the greatest benefit to pastures, and of the type constituting the gardeners' delight, warm and steady rain fell for some time on Monday night and during the earlier hours of yesterday. It will be noted elsewhere that the fall for September was not far removed from the driest recorded and September is a month when pastures need the moisture. So far, however, the dairying season promises well and a continuance of favourable weather conditions should make for a good yield. Town gardeners will appreciate the recent light fall although it has been pointed out by one that the advantage is somewhat offset by the increased growth of the lawns-
