A hapuka line was baited and thrown -over. A terakihi took the'bait and as the line was pulled in an attempt wa~s made by a barracouta to take the terakihi. The live bait was al-l lowed to drop back in the hope of liooking the barracouta. ; No sooner had the line commenced to sink again when, with a flash through the water, a five-foot sixinches Kingfish swallowed the terakihi, hook and all. The large fisty weighing just on a hundred pounds, took about twenty minutes-to bring aboard and despatch. Somewhat of -a tangle was caused among the other lines over the side but those pn such a detail in viewing the record catch.
