YOUNG FARMERS' CLUB
The usual monthly meeting of the Edgccumbe branch, Y.F.C., . was held recently, with a fair attendance. During the minutes of the meeting, discussion focused on a letter received from the Organising Secretary, Wellington, setting out a proposal with reference to a special Aeroplane Fund set up by the young farmers of the country. It was decided, that, in view of already existing organisations it would not be practicable to carry on with this particular proposal but to devote all efforts to the funds that are already underway. Five minute impromptu speeches were then held, the subjects being: Mammitis; The superiority of the Fricsian cow; Monkeys as pets; The evolution of the telegraph system: Goldmining in New Zealand; Expert advice in education; Sheep in the Dominion; The latter three subjects were given at the previous meeting.
