HAMILTON SALE • WETHER MUTTON IN DEMAND The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Go. Ltd. report:— Sheep: At Frankton sale on Tuesday a smaller yarding of fat, sheep than last week was j| nnetl, the entry including a number of prime medium weight ewe and wether mutton, for which competition was keen and values consequently showed an improvement on last week's quotations. Values for light hoggets eased slightly, although vendors met the market,, and a total clearance resulted. Cattle: A large entry of all classes of cattle came forward. Prime ox beef, was considerably easier on last week's rates, with cow and heifer beef also showing a slight decline on late quotations. A pen of medium prime Hereford bullocks from Mr W. Cooper-Smith, Tuhikaramea made to £11 7s 6(1, a. consignment of Polled Angus heifers from Mr Finlayson, Tuhikaramea sold from £9 6s to £9 17s 6d,, whilst a pen of heavy s Hereford cows from Mr Hall, Ohaupo Road, averaged £9 10s. A fair entry of fat calves maintained late rates. Boner cattle came forward in large numbers, and values in this section also" were slightly easier on recent sales. Pigs: A light yarding of fat pigs,, and a full entry of stores ancl .w.eaners. The demand for all classes was very keen and prices showed- "a slight -improvement -on last week's rates.
