WAIMANA NOTES
YOUNG FARMERS* CLUB DANCE (Beacon Correspondent). The dance held under the auspices of the Wainiana Young Farmers' Club in the Wainiana Hall was a great success. The dance music was provided by Mr Micklejohn's orchestra. Mr Brian White made a most efficient M.C, and Mr J. Cain acted as doorkeeper. A box of chocolates for competition Av'as won by Mrs R. Smith, Napier. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mrs S. McConnell and Mr T. Doran. The lance extras were played by Mrs King and Mr M. Burke. ' After supper, Mr R. Woolfield on J behalf of the members of the Y.F.C. presented Mr N. Macdonald with a beautiful silver cigarette case suitably engraved in appreciation of his great assistance to the club. Mr Macdonald thanked the members, and stated that there were quite a number of gentlemen in the district who hadi helped just as much as he had, and thought they could share the honour also, especially Mr R. Fleming, who had acted as adviser in the past, and Mr T. Wardlaw and Mr F. J. Savage, who had held field (lays on their farms. Mr R. Woolfield thanked the ladies who had helped so willingly with the supper, especially Mrs F. Bell. Among those present were Mestlames F. Bell, M. King, M. Mannion, I. Savage, J. Ruff, H.
