Awakeri Red Cross. The dancing public are reminded! that the Awakeri Red Cross Society 'are giving a dance in the Awakeri Hall on September 10th at 8 p.m. A good orchestra and supper will be features of the evening.
Congratulations to the A. and P. Society on its decision to carry on with the show as usual War or no war, there is no reason why the district pride in agriculture should be allowed to die. The people at home will appreciate the spirit and confidence of the general committee and will look forward with pleasure to the next fixture with the conviction that it will be every bit as as its fore-runners.
The Plunket Society. Those interested are reminded that there is a meeting of the Whakatane Branch of the Plunket Society in the Plunket rooms to-mor-row at 2 p.m.
