POSTPONEMENT NOT FAVOURED CRITICISM OF COUNTIES' ASSOCIATION'S DECISION A recommendation of the Finance? and General Purposes Committee approved by the Whakatane County Council at its ordinary monthly meeting yesterday was that it be indicated to the Counties Association, that the Council does not favour the postponement of ilie Local Body elections. It was further submitted to the Association that its executive exceeded its authority in indicating its decision to the Government on behalf of all County Councils and in addition it was pointed out that it was not too late for the Counties' Executive to circularise all councils on this important matter.
