WEDDING
WITHY—RENDALL A pretty wedding of considerable interest was solemnised recently at the Matata Catholic Church, when Margaret, third daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Rendall, Manawahe, was married to Rupert, youngest son of Mr and Mrs 11. Withy, Matata. Rev Father Zanna performed the ceremony and also celebrated Nuptial Mass, The bride, who was escorted by her lathe:', looked charming in a beautiful frock of ivory silk taffeta with a fully flared skirt which fell into a short train. The bodice was softty shirred and ornamented with, tiny buttons and her long tight-.fit-ting sleeves formed points over the hands. A coronet of orange blossoms held in place the beautifully embroidered veil which the bride wore over her face as she entered, the church. She carried a sheaf of arum lilies. Miss Dorothy Rendall attended her sister as bridesmaid wearing a pjw-der-blue taffeta frock with a hearts shaped neck line, long fitting bodice and sunray-pleated skirt. She wore a matching poke bonnet .and car-» ried a bouquet of daffodils and blua cornflowers with maidenhair fern. Two little flower girls, Mary Withy, niece of the bridegroom, and Jean Macpherson., made a charming addition to the bridal groups dressed alike in long frocks of gold; taffeta made with fitting bodices and fully gathered skirts. They* wore poke bonnets of the same material, and carried baskets of rose petals which thej r scattered before the bridal couple as they left the church. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Ivan Withy as best ' man. Mr K. Rendall was usher the church. W After the ceremony a reception as held at the home of the bride's parents where Mrs Rendall received her guests wearing a burgundy . frock embroidered with gold thread, 7 a matching hat andi a fox fur. She carried a bouquet of calendula and gerberas to Mrs Withy, the bridegroom's mother, was in a bottle green suit and hat. She carricd a posy of violets. tor travelling the bridie wore a princess-styled coat of dahlia, over a cyclamen frock, with matching hat and accessories.
