RUGBY FOOTBALL

TO-MORROW'S FIXTURES OBSERVATION ON DUNDERDALE CUP When asked by a Beacon representative yesterdaj r when the match for the Dunderdale Cup with Rangitaiki was to be played the President of the Whakatane Union,, Mr W. S. Henderson, stated that he regretted to say the likelihood of this match taking place this iseason now appeared very remote. Whakatane had been waiting to play on each Saturday since the beginning of June but the Rangitaiki Union's programme had not permitted them to fulfill their obligation in regard to this very fine trophy. It had been hoped to play on the 24th inst but Rangitaiki had accepted an engagement with Te Puke for that date. The game should have been played in Whakatane this season and it was a serious blow to this Union that the game had not eventuated.
