PAROA TO THE FORE

SCHOOL CHILDREN PLANT ONIONS Four thousand of the half million or so onion plants which have been distributed to the schools in North Auckland, Waikato, Thames Valley and the Bay of Plenty, were planted yesterday at the Paroa School, nn'cler the supervision of Mr and Mrs W. M. Clark. / The ground has been well prepared and was soon flattened to facilitate the planting, . which, with the whole school on the job; w&s completed in a comparatively short time. The children, in their desire to help the country's war effort, will doftibtless keep an anxious weather eye open and it is to be hoped that growing conditions and the final result will be commensurate with the interest and enthusiasm! displayed.
