WEDDING BELLS

RAND—BLACK The Anglican Church, Waimana was the scene of a pretty and distinctive wedding last Wednesday when Rebecca, second daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Black, of Waiman'a, was wedded to John Richard, only son of Mr and Mrs G. Rand, of Whakatane. The Rev. S. C. Caulton officiated, and the church which had been tastefully decorated by friends of the bride for the occasion, made an effective setting for the ceremony. The bride, who was given aw a Y by her brother, Mr Robert Black, looked most Incoming in a gown of white silk repp, cut in straight lines with heart-shaped neck-line. A close-fitting bodice ornamented to the waist with tiny satin buttons gave way to a full skirt which, fell to form a graceful fan-shaped train. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in position by a coronet of orange blossom and fell in soft folds to form a second train. She carried a bouquet of early daffodils with trailers of asparagus fern. Miss Grace Rand, sister of the bridegroom, attended as bridesmaid and looked very attractive in a full length gown of hollyrood green georgette, cut on classical lines with pleated turban to match, tind dainty bouquet of pale pink stock and asparagus fern. Mr Frank Brown attended as bestf man. The reception was held in the Waiman'a Hall which had been dew corated with spring flowers for the occasion. Mrs Black received her guests wearing a trim brown ensemble and carrying a toning bouquet. Mrs Rand, mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart costume of air-force blue with squirrel necklet, and carried a bouquet of! daphnes. Mr A. J. Canning made an excellent toast-master contributing to the general enjoyment of the festivities Avitli his popular entertaining manner. When the young couple left for their honeymoon the bride travelled in a costume of London Tan wit It jade green accessories.
