HEAVY POSTAGE
BY AIR MAIL ROUTES ■Owing to the heavy increase i : n the postage of letters by air mail! from England to distant countries, some big business concerns in London have to spend a good; deal of monej* in stamps. Large business letters to the Far East are costing up to £3 a and' in the Clipper air packets to the United States, five ten and 15 dollars are common charges for a big" letter. The highest record in this matter are held by a financial" house with big ' interests in Argentina which periodically sends a letter packet which costs, from £20 to £25 for postage. These packets Aveigh between three and four lb,, and the array of multi-coloured stamps of various values that cover the back of the package presents a miniature art gallery.
