WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

MATATA BRANCH MEETING' The July meeting of the Matata W.I. was held at Mrs H. D. Wilson's residence on Wednesday, 17th inst. There was a fair attendance. Mrs Caverhill presided and welcomed all members and visitors. After business was dealt with a debate was held, the subject being "Arc Girls More Helpful Than, Boys?" The result was a draw. The l roll call was "Four Lines of Poetry I Learned at" School." Competitions resulted: Best Flower: Miss Burt 1, Mrs Smith 2, Mrs Schick 3. Bunch of Spring Flowers: Mrs Smith 1, Mrs Schick 2, Miss Burt 3. Oven Cloth: Mrs Wrathall 1, Mrs Ansell 2, Mrs Smith 3. Afternoon tea Avas served by Mrs Lassen and Mrs Magee and a hearty vote of thanks Avas accorded Mrs Wil son for her hospitality.
