WAIMANA NOTES
W.I. GARDENING CIRCLE (Own Correspondent) The monthly meeting of the Gardening Circle of'...the Women's Institute was held recently at the home of. Mrs A. Eagle. In the absence of the president, Mrs E. P. Wool-field presided over a large attendance of members and visitors.. A flower competition arranged by Mrs King, was won by Mrs G. Stans-» bury. After a dainty tea had been served by the hostesses, Mrs Stevenson, and Mrs G. Slonsbury, Mrs Jerram, on behalf of the gardening circle, presented Mrs W. McConnell Jnr. (who has left the district) with a gift. Mrs McConnell' suitably responded, thanking for the much appreciated gift. Tho- day's competitions were: — Best Flower: Mrs Mitchell 1, Mrs Hughes 2, Miss Hughes 3. Best Vege table: Mrs A. K. ' Bell (Carrot') 1, Mrs Eagle (Onion) 2, Mrs Hughes (Leek) 3. Bowl of Flowers or Foliage: Mrs Woolfield 1, Mrs Mitchell 2. Mrs King 3.
