ROUND-UP ONI WEDNESDAY HAVE YOUR PARCELS READY Wednesday is the day scheduled for the clothes drive organised by the Whakatane Men's Patriotic Com mittee and the officials of the Whakatane Post Office for the benefit of Lady Galway's Guild appeal for the refugees. Residents of the Borough are reminded of the date and asked to have their parcels! ready in order to facilitate the collection, some of which will be done by day and the remainder during the evening. .In his circular to householders, the honorary secretary of the committee, Mr D. V. Saunders, points out that the plight of homeless and destitute people overseas calls for selfless and unremitting action on the part. of every member of the community, and the committee is confident of a great response.to this appeal. All classes of wearing apparel, clothing, under-clothing, liats, overcoats will be acceptable, for babies, children,, and adults of both sexes. Also garments or material suitablie for remaking may be included. Only boots and shoes worth repairing should be included and any repairs necessary will be arranged by the committee. It is requested that goods donated be clean, in a thoroughly hygienic condition and that garments ctc, are in thorough repair.
