TE TEKO BRANCH FORMATION OF GUILD The monthly meeting of the Te Teko W.D.F.U. took place in the Te Teko Hall on Tuesday afternoon, 9th July, Mrs Jamieson presiding over a good attendance of members. After general business had been dealt with Miss Currie gave a most interesting address on Avar time ixl England, as she had seen activities on her recent tour through the Homeland, A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Miss Currie who later delighted all members present with! a solo, sung in her rich, sil-very voice. Competitions for the afternoon resulted as follows:—Best bloom-: Mrs Jamieaon 1, Mrs Cannell 2. Eggless cake: Mrs Jamieson 1. Following the meeting a ptoposal was brought forward, that we form a branch of the Lady Galway Paty riotic Guild, in Te Teko, the meeting day to be the second Tuesday in the month and same afternoon as the W.D.F.U. meetings. It was 1 thought advisable to arrange it thus owing to the pet to! restrictions, the W.D.F.U. meeting to commence at 2 p.m., and as soon as business had been dealt with the Guild work would occupy the remainder of the afternoon. Any old clothes suitable for remaking would be greatly appreciated, and all ladies interested fis well as the W.D.F.U. ladies will be warmly welcomed.

LOCAL SUPPORT LADY GALWAY'S GUILD LYCEUM CLUB'S CONTRIBUTION For the purpose of assisting Lady Galway's appeal for clothing foir refugees, the Gardening Circle of the Lyceum Club held a progressive bridge evening in the Club's rooms on Monday. The winners were Mesdamcs Boswcll, H. Vercoe and Miss N. Carlyon. Among those present were Mesdames H. M. Dewar, D. EL Pearse, A. Boswcll, H. Vercoe, N. A l . Corcoran, K. S. Eggers, J. W. Boon, W. R. Boon, J. Warner, J. Moricc, E. T. Dawson, G. Farmer, Lashman, G. R. Kent, S. Wheeler, G.; Booth, G. Otley, C. C. Southey, W. Bridger, A. Britlger, J. Martin, L. Littlejohn, F. Gartsliore, G. F. Thomas, and M. Cairns. Misses D. Boon, B. Allen, G. Kent and N. Carlyon.
