— _ EFFORTS OF THE BANDS TOAST TO MEN ON SERVICI3 .In proposing the toast to Bandsmen' on Service at the combined Bands' social on Monday evening, Mr B. S. Barry said that the efforts of -the bands in helping the town were appreciated by all. They were always ready to turn out. when asked and their assistance was invaluable. Mr Barry said he did not krijow all the bandsmen overseas, but it was likely that both organisations had lost some of their bests members through enlistment and their places would be hard to fill. "With the boys ~ overseas there will be the same comradeship and the same goodwill as in the respective bands," said Mr Barry, "andi Ave should see that the work goes on, so that it will be here when th«x boys come -back.^ " "I
