OFFENSIVE ACT

COURT A young Maori of Poroporo, Rue]ben Taylor* was charged in . the Police Court last Saturday morning with behaving in an offensive manner in the Strand on Friday evening. Police evidence showed that •defendant- had been arrested about 11.20 p.m. Mr G. A. Brabant (on the bench) observed that this type of offence was most objectionable. Defendant was fined 30s, 10 court costs and 'ordered to pay a further 10s to the owner of the shop front concerned.
