Dear Sir,
Letters to the Editor must be clearly written on one side of the paper only. Where a nom-de-plume is used the name of the writer must be enclosed for reference purposes only. NEW POST OFFICE Sir,—l think several weeks ago you referred to the question of a new Post - Office for Whakatane and you also suggested a new site. Since then I have beard nothing further but to iny mind the suggestion was a real good on<. and the opportunity should be taken advantage of to get a better site than the present one. It s*eems to me a great pity to spend any money enlarging the present building, and there is no doubt the post office should be in a central position. The site suggested on the corner of the Strand and Commerce Street (opposite the Rock) is just the place and a twostoreyed building there would improve the look of the town wonderfully,. Is there anything we can do to further the object. Yours etc., "PROGRESS."
