OPOTIKI PIG SALE
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. report as follows on the monthly pig sale held at the Opotiki Saleyards on Monday:— We had a good yarding of pigs ; Export buyers were not operating and bacon pigs show a decline on late rates; also-, choppers. Porkers were firm at late rates. Good stores and sili'ps show a, sharp increase in value and ■competition was keen throughout the sale. No weavers were yarded. Prices realised were: Heavy prime baconers £3 6's to £3 lis; heavy baconers £3 3s to £3 6s:; light baconers £3 to £3 3s; heavy porkers £2. 10s to £2 16s; light porkers £2 to £2 ss; heavy -choppers £3 to £3 9s; light choppers 35s to £'J 3s; good buttermilk pigs £2, tb £1; 18s; heavy store p'gs 35s to £2: stores 30s to 33.6;' slips 2Ss' to (C.s; sews in pig. to £4 17s 6d.
