AFFILIATION AND MAINTEN* ANCE ! IMPRISONMENT FOR ARREARS Phyllis Finlay (Mr Otley) applied for affiliation and maintenance orders against Thomas Jamieson at the Court sit- " ting on Tuesday. Both were granted, the latter for 10s per week, with j arrears fixed at £18, expenses at £10 and solicitor's fee, £3 3s. On the application of Emily Stewart (Mr Smith), acting on behalf T of Mariana Stewart, a maintenance order was made against Robert , Biddle, Junior (Mr O'tiey), for 10s per week. A. H. Burns proceeded against Robert Edward Jamieson for dis- ... obedience of a maintenance order, arrears totalling £42 17s 6d at 12/1/40. It was stated that the Magistrate had suspended the case from [ the last sitting to enable defendant to draw certain contract money owing to him. He liad then stated that ! he was joining the military forces. ~ The authorities advised that he had 1 been posted to certain reinforce--1 ments, but could not be found. ' Jamieson was sentenced to one month's imprisonment in Mt. Eden Gaol.
