PATRIOTIC TAXATION

Taxation amounting to £2692 3s is due to the Government for the recent patriotic meeting staged at Te Rapa under the auspices of the Waikato Racing Club. It was intimated by the Government that it would agree to the remission of taxation equivalent to the amount of the net profit .from the meeting, which means that if, as is estimated, a profit of £2000 'is shoAvn by the club, the sum of £4000 will be available for patriotic purposes.
