NEW SHOP OPENS

TRADING COMPANY' ATTRACTIVE, MODERN, DISTINCTIVE Another illustration of the confi'■dence reposed in the future of Whakatane~as a future business centre, is the opening of a new and larger shop by the branch of the Farmers' Trading Company. The premises ■which will officially open to-day are outstandingly attractive and constitute an asset to the appearance of the Strand. - # Faced with cream and black vitrolite, the spacious shop is equipped with all the modern fixtures which :go towards making shopping a pleasure. The predominant colour tones are cream and pale green. Four ■counters, serving as many departments are ranged down one side, with a background of well stocked shelves. The opposite wall is devoted to general merchandise with a special central panel reserved for electrical appliances. Something of the wide range of stock is gleaned from the wall notices which read, •Confectionery, groceries, tobacco, cereals and hardware. 'Shop at the Farmers for value' is the slogan adopted by the firm and it is the intention of the local branch to live up to it in every way. The new shop commends itself from every point of view, and covers in stock ranges, all available lines.— P.B.A. Advt.
