MONTHLY INGLESIDE

CALEDONIAN SOCIETY'S EVENING PIPE BAND'S DISPLAY The Whakatane Caledonian Society held the June Ingleside in the King Street Hall on Friday nighty a good attendance expressing delight at the standard of the evening's entertainment. Modern and old time numbers were danced tc music supplied by Mrs Armstrong's orchestra and the Pipe Band. During the evening the Band presented the Drum Major's display, under the direction of Pipe Major Johnson. Mrs Larmer earned applause for two violin solos and other items enjoyed were by Betty Flavell (Highland Fling and Sailor's Hornpipe); Nellie Rivett and Shirley Comislcey (Irish Jig); Danny Edwards and Nora Watson (Waltz Tap) and Verna Head (Tap Dance). Supper arrangements were in the hands of the Society's! Ladies ,Comh mittee, always responsible for a high standard of catering.
