COLLISION WITH CYCLIST 1 SCHOOLBOY SERIOUSLY J INJURED s , • A serious accident occurred near Kutarere at about 5.30 p.m. 011 Wednesday, when a schoolboy, Fred crick WhiteAvood, aged 12, son of Mr Whitewood, of Te Puke, was struck by a motor car driven by Mr H. J. Clayton. At the time of the accident the boy was cycling or; the main highway near the two small bridges at Kutarere, and Mr was travelling from Waiotahi to Nulcuhou North. Fred Whitewood received severe injuries to both legs and was removed to the Opotiki hospital in a critcal condition. His condition is still serious. YOUNG BOiY KILLED TRUCK OVERTURNS A tragic accident occurred at Opo tiki " yesterday, the infant son of Mr J. Donaldson being killed when a truck, loaded with firewood, and driven by Mr Donaldson, overturned in Church Street. The truck swerved to avoid a car and the boy was "thrown, the truck overturning and pinning him underneath.
