NOTES FOR PLAYERS Q: A player has five seconds in which to shoot at goal; if time is called as the ball is on the way to the ring or about to enter the ring, would the goal be counted? A: The game ends as soon as time is called, and unless the ball was actually in or through the" ring when the call was given the goal would not be counted. The only exception to this is when a penalty shot at goal lia<; been awarded. Q: An attacker received a pass directly under the ring. She decides that she is in an unsuitable position to aim at goal and so. passes the ball backwards over her head to one of her attack wings, who shoots at goal. Is this permissible? A: Yes. Provided the pass is taken within three seconds, and there is the necessary distance (arm'? length) between the players. Q: Can a player throw for a goal when she has received the ball from outside the circle, or must she pass it on to one of her side within the circle before a goal can be attempted? A: Provided the player was not touching the ground outside the shooting circle when she received the pass, she would be entitled f.«< take a shot at goal. Q: If a goaler when taking a pass in the goal circle has one foot outside the circle, may she draw that foot in and shoot, or must she pass the ball to another player? A: The ball must be passed. A player may not score a goal direct from a pass received while any pari of her is touching the ground outside the circle line.
