COUNCIL'S MONTHLY MEETING The Whakatane Borough Council was at full strength on Monday night, His Worship the Mayor presiding over Councillors S. S. Sliapley, A. J. Canning, G. G. Caisley, J. G. Mulholland, A. Hail, G. Otley W. Sullivan, C. S. Armstrong and C. W. Good. Starting promptly at 7.30 p.m., the agenda was completed in quick time, the only two items to be discussed at any length being the purchase j of Mr . McLennau's cottage, built,on the Council's property, and the ever-green topic 'water in the channels,'
