local reserve force ANTICIPATED STRENGTH OF 200 A register lias been opened at tho BEACON Oflice Cor those wishing to join tlie Wluikatane district unit of the Volunteer Reserve Force, which lias as its object the home defence of the Dominion in the event of an emergency. The organisation is open to members of the R.S.A. and other men who for variour reasons arc prevented from enlisting for service overseas. Several have already entered their names and it is confidently expected that the anticipated strengtli of 200 will be realised. Notification as to parades, routine and equipment will be supplied in the near future to all who join.
