DOG TRIALS
GOOD ATTENDANCE AT WAIRAU HIGH STANDARD SHOWN The twenty-eighth annual meeting: of the Whakatane District SheepDog Trial Club was held last week on Mr W. G. Roberts' property, Wairau. There was a good attends ance to witness the trials. The judge, commenting on the high standard of the dogs competing, said that owners were fortune ate in possessing dogs which in abil-r ity could hold their own against the best in the Dominion. Trophies won were as follows:— Colin McKenzie Cup, ChampionDog, H. Sisam's Lad; Championship Cup, presented by Mr G. S. Meacl for best two dog team, H. Sisam;, James' Cup, for dog scoring most* points in Classes 3 and 4„ T. Garlick's Chum; Bergman Cup, for dog scoring most points in H. Sisam's Glen; Bobth Cup, ST V James' Heath.
