SERVICES RECOGNISED
POPULAR CLUB SECRETARY TRIBUTE FROM LOCAL GOLFERS Mr Albert Clark, who leaves for Auckland to-day was the recipient of a crystal decanter and set fro.m members of ihe Whakatane Golf Club, on Saturday last. Mr Clark who for the past five years has fluted as secretary to the club, has enjoyed great popularity with members who warmly appreciate his iiii terest in the game and his untiring efforts on behalf .of the club. In making the presentation, the president Mr L. Luxton, referred in eulogistic terms to Mr Clark's efficient and able service as secretary. During his term, he said, club had gone from strength to strength and its continued progress was in no small measure due to his keenness and enthusiasm. Other members >spoke wishing Mr Clark the iDest of luck and asking him to accept the gift as a farewell token of their friendship and esteem At Tuesday's meeting further references were made to Mr Clark's departure and committeemen joined in extending to him their best wishes for continued success in the future.
